Copyright, Licensing & Author Rights Policy

The International Journal of Advances in Soft Computing and its Applications (IJASCA) is committed to protecting intellectual property rights while promoting open access, ethical scholarly publishing, transparency, and research integrity.

All articles published in IJASCA are made immediately and permanently available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) License. This policy defines the rights and responsibilities of authors, readers, and the Publisher regarding copyright ownership, licensing, reuse, and publication.


1. Copyright Ownership

Authors retain the copyright of their published work.

Upon acceptance of a manuscript, the corresponding author is required to complete and sign the Journal's License to Publish Agreement on behalf of all co-authors.

By signing this agreement, authors grant Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan, the Publisher of IJASCA, a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual license to:

  • Publish, reproduce, and distribute the article.
  • Identify itself as the original publisher.
  • Register the article with Crossref and assign a Digital Object Identifier (DOI).
  • Archive, preserve, and maintain the official Version of Record.
  • Index and disseminate the published work through scholarly databases and repositories.

The License to Publish does not transfer copyright ownership from the authors to the Publisher.


2. Open Access License

IJASCA is a Fully Open Access Journal.

All published articles are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) License.

This license permits anyone to:

  • Read and download articles.
  • Copy and redistribute the published work.
  • Share the article in any medium or format.
  • Adapt, remix, transform, and build upon the work.
  • Use the work for commercial and non-commercial purposes.

Users must provide appropriate credit to the original author(s), cite the Journal as the original publisher, include a link to the CC BY 4.0 License, and indicate whether changes have been made.

No additional permission from either the authors or the Publisher is required for uses permitted under the CC BY 4.0 License.


3. Authors' Rights

Authors retain the following rights after publication:

  • Copyright ownership.
  • Patent and other intellectual property rights arising from their research.
  • The right to reuse figures, tables, illustrations, and other original content in future scholarly works.
  • The right to distribute and archive the published Version of Record in accordance with the Journal's Author Self-Archiving Policy.
  • The right to use the published work for teaching, research, academic presentations, dissertations, and other educational purposes.

4. Originality and Exclusive Submission

By submitting a manuscript to IJASCA, the corresponding author confirms that:

  • The manuscript is original.
  • The manuscript has not been published previously.
  • The manuscript is not under consideration by another journal or publisher.
  • All listed authors have approved the submission.
  • Appropriate permission has been obtained for any copyrighted material incorporated into the manuscript.
  • The manuscript does not infringe upon any copyright, patent, trademark, or other intellectual property rights.

5. Author Responsibilities

Authors are responsible for ensuring that:

  • The submitted work is accurate, original, and complete.
  • Authorship accurately reflects individual contributions.
  • All sources are appropriately acknowledged and cited.
  • Conflicts of interest are disclosed.
  • Funding sources are declared where applicable.
  • Ethical approval has been obtained where required.
  • Any use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been disclosed in accordance with the Journal's Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy.

6. Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Authors may use Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools only in accordance with the Journal's Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy.

AI technologies may be used to assist with:

  • Language editing.
  • Grammar improvement.
  • Translation.
  • Formatting.
  • Enhancing the visual quality of figures and illustrations originally created by the authors.

Artificial Intelligence systems must not be listed as authors or co-authors.

Authors remain fully responsible for the originality, accuracy, integrity, interpretation, and scientific validity of all submitted content.

Any AI use beyond language or presentation support must be transparently disclosed within the manuscript.


7. Research Integrity

All manuscripts submitted to IJASCA undergo editorial assessment and similarity screening before peer review.

The Journal does not tolerate:

  • Plagiarism.
  • Duplicate publication.
  • Data fabrication.
  • Data falsification.
  • Citation manipulation.
  • Image manipulation that alters the scientific meaning of the work.
  • Authorship misconduct.
  • Undisclosed conflicts of interest.

Confirmed violations may result in rejection, correction, retraction, or other editorial actions in accordance with the Journal's Publication Ethics Policy.


8. Manuscript Withdrawal

Authors may request withdrawal of a manuscript before a final editorial decision has been issued.

After a manuscript has been formally accepted, withdrawal requests will only be considered under exceptional circumstances and are subject to approval by the Editor-in-Chief.

Once an article has been published, any correction, update, or retraction will be handled in accordance with the Journal's Corrections, Retractions & Expressions of Concern Policy.


9. Article Processing Charges (APC)

Submission of manuscripts to IJASCA is free of charge.

Article Processing Charges (APCs) are payable only after the manuscript has successfully completed the peer-review process and has received a final editorial decision of acceptance.

The corresponding author will receive the official Acceptance Letter, together with payment instructions issued by the Editorial Office.

Payment of the APC does not influence the editorial decision and does not guarantee publication. Editorial decisions are based solely on the scientific quality, originality, technical soundness, ethical compliance, and relevance of the submitted manuscript.

10. License to Publish

Publication of an accepted manuscript is conditional upon receipt of a completed License to Publish Agreement signed by the corresponding author on behalf of all co-authors.

The License to Publish authorizes the Journal to publish, preserve, disseminate, and index the article while allowing authors to retain copyright ownership.


11. Policy Updates

IJASCA reserves the right to revise or update this policy periodically to reflect developments in scholarly publishing, international best practices, legal requirements, and publication ethics.

The most recent version published on the Journal website shall constitute the official policy.


12. Acceptance of the Policy

Submission of a manuscript to the International Journal of Advances in Soft Computing and its Applications (IJASCA) constitutes the authors' acknowledgment that they have read, understood, and agreed to comply with this Copyright, Licensing & Author Rights Policy, together with all other Journal policies governing submission, peer review, publication, and post-publication practices.
